Round Table on Mentoring

Volunteering is an essential part of AIIC. Without volunteers the association could not survive. Neither can it survive without new members joining AIIC and, in turn, offering their services as volunteers to the organization. In order to make the move into AIIC easier for pre-candidates and candidates, mentoring programmes and similar initiatives have been established in various regions to formalize the connections between AIIC members and people wanting to join AIIC.

Therefore, the mentoring initiatives are an excellent example for how to become active as a volunteer which we want to highlight in this conference.

We, the AB-ExCo Working Group on Volunteering, want to give existing programmes the opportunity to present themselves, hear (and learn) from other programmes around the world, and we want to give regions without such programmes in place information on how to establish such initiatives. Lastly, we want to hear from mentors and mentees about their experience with their programmes, insights and learnings.
