We are pleased to inform you that the World Association of Sign Language Interpreters (WASLI) Conference will take place from 4 to 9 July, 2023 at Jeju Island, Korea. This will be the first time the WASLI Conference will take place in an ASIAN Country.
WASLI has hosted several conferences that have drawn delegates from all over the world. The last conference held in Paris in 2019 had over 500 delegates attending. These conferences are a key activity that provides professional development for many interpreters who have no access to such in their home country. Gatherings such as these also allow for the exchange of ideas, best practice approaches, and the opportunity to build capacity among interpreter communities.
As past delegates, we are delighted to invite you to join us in the stunning island of Jeju, that’s famous for its picturesque beaches, amazing seafood and natural beauty. The WASLI 2023 conference will feature 3 keynote presentations, 36 paper presentations and 16 poster presentations. In addition, there will be a cultural exploration as part of the conference highlights.
The venue for this event is at Haevichi Hotel and Resort. It’s equipped with modern amenities and overlooks the ocean with a superb backdrop of mountains and lush greenery landscapes.The hotel has generously given us special rates, which is almost half of their rack rates.
